The Consorzio del Formaggio Parmigiano Reggiano is the association of Parmigiano Reggiano producers and is responsible for protecting Parmigiano Reggiano, one of the worlds oldest and richest cheeses. The history of this King of Cheeses dates back to at least 1200AD and today, Parmigiano Reggiano is still handmade by small artisans dairies with the same care and dedication that was shown 900 years ago.

Brand Dialogue has been marketing Parmigiano Reggiano in the UK since 1991 their first and only consultancy. Our appointment came about because of our experience with certified products and endorsement from the Parma Ham Consortium. We have encouraged them to participate in press trips organised by us for the Parma Ham Consortium. These products have shared values of long tradition, PDO certification, 100% natural, high quality and specific products from a defined region.

The minimum maturation time for Parmigiano Reggiano cheese is 12 months, but only when it reaches approximately 24 months of age, is it at its best. As well as having fantastic nutritional qualities, its easy to digest and is high in calcium.

 

Activities include
Press trips to the region; promotional activities with regional delicatessens; recipe development; literature; media relations – press releases, product sampling, recipe and information CDs; press restaurant events and cookery school courses; educational seminars; retail promotion; promotion and educational activities for chefs. Work with the Italian Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MIPAAF), encouraging the use of Parmigiano Reggiano in top Italian restaurants through menu development, offering free aperitivo chunks to every customer and Parmigiano Reggiano tasting events for press and consumers.
